North Point Assisted Living, Anderson, South Carolina
Beacon Communities successfully rebranded, repositioned and fully renovated an existing 46-unit assisted living facility in Anderson, South Carolina. The community was a family-owned, distressed property that had fallen into disrepair. The residents were mostly funded by Medicaid waiver.
Beacon recognized the opportunity and successfully remodeled the enterprise and incorporated an affordable memory care component. We also added 20 assisted living units and reconfigued the common areas to accommodate the increased number of residents, who were all moved to private pay.
All of these enhancements were accomplished while simultaneously keeping the facility fully operational. Upon completion, the community was fully stabilized in less than 6 months.
Creekside Assisted Living and Memory Care, Murfreesboro, Tennessee
This 74-unit assisted living and memory care facility opened in June of 2010 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Beacon was involved from the beginning with the conceptual stage, and, subsequently, with all phases of the development and pre-marketing of the community. The location was originally planned to be part of a master planned, multi-use development, but, due to the economy, the assisted living facility was the only component of the project that launched.
While this situation made pre-marketing and marketing a challenge, the community was fully stabilized within 24 months, and operates today with a waiting list. The facility continues to be recognized locally as the “Best Assisted Living Community” in Murfreesboro.
